This was probably a jewelry box, but the multitude of drawers made it an excellent candidate for a prop! Each drawer can be part of the solution, so you can program it to have any combination of drawers open or closed to be the correct solution. Once solved, a simple fanfare is played, and a relay is activated that can be connected to an external device like a mag lock.  The LCD display shows the correct code upon bootup, and then shows each drawer's state while the prop is active.
